James D. Strzelec

James D. Strzelec 64 passed away on December 29, 2016. He was born October 2, 1952 to the late Stanley and Betty (Rivers) Strzelec.

Jim graduated from Pembroke High School in 1970 and attended college for a brief time. He then went on to serve in the Army from 1973 - 1975. He worked as a welder at Moog in East Aurora until his retirement a few years ago. Jim enjoyed collecting antiques, deer hunting, and photography. He especially loved riding his Harley whenever he had a chance.

Beloved father of Carissa (Darrin) Berghorn of Akron; dear brother of Joseph (Lori) Strzelec of Holland, Elynn "Cookie" (Jae-Kyoung Kim) Strzelec of Amherst, Pamela Whitney of Penfield, Wendy (Michael) Moriarty of Medina, Susan Vogel, and Patricia Matlasz both of Clarence. He is also survived by two granddaughters Lily Joan and Lacey Lee Berghorn as well as many nieces and nephews. Jim was predeceased by his brother John Stanley Strzelec in 1962.

Friends and relatives may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at Ross Funeral Home of Akron, LLC, 10 Eckerson Avenue, Akron where a Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at 11 a.m.
