William D. Geake, known fondly as Bill, passed away on February 6, 2024. Born in Buffalo, NY on April 22, 1946. His 77 years were marked by a deep love for his family, a commitment to education, and an unyielding passion for life. As Mark Twain once said, "The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why." For William, that 'why' was evident in his dedication to teaching and the joy he found in his hobbies.
Bill was a beloved figure in the Lancaster Central School District, where he taught for 32 years before his retirement. A devout Bills fan, he also found solace in the great outdoors, frequently fishing in Lake Erie and hunting deer in his backyard in Akron. His cottage in Angola served as a peaceful retreat where he cherished many hours of tranquility. Family vacations to Topsail Island, Disney, and Jamaica were highlights of his life. The opportunity to visit Italy and Ireland with his wife Peg was a dream come true.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Margaret "Peg" Geake; his children Ty (Amy) Critelli, Gina (Dan) Senko; his grandchildren, Nick, Morgan, Natalie, Gianna; his sisters, Karen (John) Grotke, Michelle (Paul) Rappl, Sisters - in- law, Mary Anne Candino, Michele Critelli, Louise Dehlinger, GiGi Maccalupo, his best buddy of 65 years, Gary Goetz, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his son, Garett Geake, and a brother Jack Geake, along with his parents, William and Alma Geake.
Private Funeral Services will be held at a later date. We invite friends and family to share their memories and upload photos of Bill on the memorial page.
