William W. Rooney

William W. Rooney, of Akron, unexpectedly passed away on December 8, 2021. He was born in Warsaw, NY on January 3, 1953 to the late George and Eileen (Maher) Rooney.

William attended high school in Pembroke. He then went on to honorably serve his country in the United States Army. He was a proud member of the American Legion, Amvets, and the Newstead Democratic Committee. Bill was a huge Buffalo Bills fan.

He is survived by his loving children David Rooney, Justin (Sarah) Rooney, and Ryan Rooney; beloved grandchildren Shawn, Bryan, Megahn, Jaycen, Hunter, Kelie, Molly, and Connor. A brother, George (Billie Jean) Rooney and several nieces and nephews also survive him. William is predeceased by two sisters, Kathy Palmer and Patricia Cochrane.
  
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, December 12, 2021 at Yogi’s Brick Oven Bistro, 15 Main Street, Akron at 3:30 pm.
