William Joel Garfinkel, a resident of Lake Worth, Florida, and a native of Buffalo, New York, was born on May 2, 1945, and passed away on May 22, 2023. A skilled television repairman by trade, and a savvy businessman, William spent his career working in retail and customer service, ultimately retiring from Bill's Reconditioned TV in Kenmore. Known for his passion for cars, especially Corvettes and Camaros, William was a true enthusiast who brought joy and excitement to those around him through his unique talents and interests.
Never married, William's life was rich with experiences. His love for his daughter and grandchildren was readily apparent to all who knew him. In his spare time, William enjoyed eating out at various restaurants, exploring new cuisines, and indulging in his love for good food, a passion he passed on to his daughter Candice. He was a vibrant and charismatic individual, whose magnetic personality left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered.
William is survived by his loving daughter, Candice DeYoung, and her husband, Derek DeYoung as well as his two grandchildren, Dylan and Charlotte, and his "furry kid" Snickers. He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Ruth (Judelsohn) Garfinkel.
A celebration of William's life will take place on Monday, May 29, 2023, from 12:00 - 2:00 pm at Ross Funeral Home of Akron, located at 10 Eckerson Avenue, Akron, New York, 14001. As we gather to remember and honor William Garfinkel, we invite friends and family to leave memories and upload photos to his memorial page, ensuring that his legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew him.
