Virginia (Ginny) Zurlo

Virginia (Ginny) Zurlo passed away peacefully on October 14, 2019 at the age of 96. She was born in Woodhull, Illinois on May 12, 1923 to the late Daniel and Gertrude (Fallon) May.

Ginny was married to the late Joseph Zurlo (deceased November 21, 1981) for more than 36 years. She enjoyed bingo, word finds, puzzles, and playing cards. She was a huge Yankees fan.

Beloved mother of Joseph Zurlo and Richard (Suann) Zurlo both of Akron, NY; cherished grandmother of Krista (Mark) Jaekle, Melissa (David) Sanford, Monte Zurlo, Andrea Zurlo, and Leigh (Ryan) McConkey. Ginny is also survived by 6 great grandchildren; Savanna Jaekle, Brooke Jaekle, Markus Jaekle, Zachary Sanford, Nicholas Sanford, and Kendra McConkey. She is preceded in death by two brothers, Robert (Rose) May and James May; and two sisters, Genevieve (Lester) Edwards and Geraldine May.

Friends and relatives may call from 4 PM to 8 PM on Sunday, October 20, 2019 at Ross Funeral Home of Akron, LLC, 10 Eckerson Avenue, Akron, NY. A Private Entombment Service will be held at Mount Olivet Mausoleum in Tonawanda, NY. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Ginny’s name to the Alabama Fire Department.
