Virginia Thomas, affectionately known by many as Ginny, of Akron, New York, passed away on December 2, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of thoughtfulness and enduring love. Virginia was an individual who exemplified a life well-lived. She was known for her caring nature, always putting others before herself, and her thoughtful demeanor was a testament to her character.
Ginny's passions were as diverse as they were impactful. She was an avid bowler, a testament to her competitive spirit and love of camaraderie. She also dedicated her time to teach Sunday school, instilling values and faith to the younger generations. Furthermore, she explored her artistic side by teaching ceramics, revealing her patience, creativity, and dedication to sharing her knowledge with others. Virginia's hobbies were not just pastimes, but rather an extension of her kindness and generosity.
Ginny was a loving mother to Diana and James Thomas, a cherished grandmother to Kristin (Gary Baehr) Levandowski PeQueen, Michael T. Levandowski Jr., Kayla Thomas, Mya Thomas, and Shanna Thomas, and a beloved great-grandmother to Ethan, Jason "Robbie" Jr., Rachel, and Alex PeQueen. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 65 years, Harold "Jim" Thomas.
A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 PM on Sunday, December 7, 2025 at Ross Funeral Home of Akron, LLC., 10 Eckerson Avenue, Akron, NY 14001. A Memorial Service will take place at 1:00 PM on Monday, December 8, 2025 at One Church, 6 Scotland Rd., Akron, NY 14001.
