Susan McCann

Susan McCann, of Akron, NY, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on May 19, 2022, at the age of 72, following a courageous battle with ovarian cancer.  She was born in Buffalo, NY on June 30, 1949 to the late Joseph Coughlin and the late Jean (Cutter) Coughlin/Davis.

Sue earned her Master’s Degree in Education from Buffalo State University. A life- long educator, she taught English at Sweet Home, Kenmore, and Starpoint Schools and has many friends and colleagues from each district. In her spare time, Sue enjoyed landscaping, swimming at the Y, and cycling with the Akron Chain Gang.

Beloved wife of Patrick McCann for 51 years; devoted mother of Ryan (Margie Dixon) McCann and Andrew McCann. Cherished grandmother of 7 precious grandchildren, Taylor McCann, Dani McCann, Jackson McCann, Chloe McCann, Lincoln McCann, Emma McCann and Madaline McCann; loving sister of John (Mary) Coughlin and Nancy (Brian) Banas. James Davis, her dear step-father, survives Susan as well. 

Friends and relatives may call on Thursday, May 26, 2022 from 4 - 8 PM at Ross Funeral Home of Akron, LLC., 10 Eckerson Avenue, Akron, NY 14001 where a Memorial Service will be held on Friday, May 27, at 11 AM.
