Steven Popovich

August 14, 1936 ~ November 3, 2022 (age 86) 86 Years Old


Steven Popovich, of Corfu, NY passed away peacefully surrounded by family on November 3, 2022. He was born in Columbus, PA. on August 14, 1936 to the late Steve and Emma (Zurkane) Popovich.

Steven served his country honorably in the United States Army and worked for many years at A.B. Dick as a repairman. Steven enjoyed all aspects of car racing; he himself raced cars, avidly watched any racing on television but loved watching his grandson Dante race. 

Beloved husband of Sandra (Misiak) Popovich; loving father of Kimberley (John Franco) Smith, Alesia Popovich, the late Steven Popovich, Christine Popovich (Michael) Moran, Denielle (David) Mancuso, Nickalenna (Salvatore Collana) Turchiarelli, and Todd (Shirley) Patterson; cherished grandfather of Nicole (Ryan) Blaszak, Kenneth Smith, Thomas (Gabrielle) Smith, Michael Popovich, Jessica Shoop, Cory Mau, Brandon Hauser, Zachary Knorr, Freddie Knorr, Nathan Popovich, Dante Mancuso, Dylan Patterson, and Alex Patterson; proud great grandfather of Damyan Miller, Lexi Popovich, Camden Knorr, Ethan Knorr, Elijah Shoop, Everett Shoop, and Oliver Shoop. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. “Loving dog dad of Sovie.” He is predeceased by two sisters, Emily Popovich, and Joyce (Darryl) Stanton.

Friends and relatives may call on Saturday, November 12, 2022 from 11 - 1 PM with Military Honors starting at 12:45 PM at Ross Funeral Home of Akron, LLC., 10 Eckerson Avenue, Akron, NY 14001.
