Sandra J. Gerstung

Sandra J. Gerstung, of Akron, passed away in the care of Harris Hill Nursing on December 28, 2022. She was born in Glen Cove, NY on January 15, 1938 to the late Robert and S. Mary (Dodge) Folger.

Sandra was a 1955 graduate of Fillmore High School. Shortly after high school she met John Gerstung. They married and moved to the Akron area where they raised their two children. She had a wonderful knack for interior design and especially enjoyed painting and wallpapering. She lived her life by three Fs: Family, Friends, and Flowers. All things were on Hold and silence demanded, if the Bills were on TV. Sandy was a good friend to some, but Ma to many.

Loving mother of James Gerstung and Robin Frank; beloved sister of Claire (Tom) Woodside, Sydney Stekl, and Sara Folger. Sandra is also survived by her sister-in-law, Betty Gerstung and several nieces and nephews.
  
Friends and relatives are invited to call on Saturday, January 14th from 1 to 3 PM at Ross Funeral Home of Akron, LLC. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Donations may be made in Sandy's memory to the Newstead Historical Society/Rich-Twinn Octagon House, P.O. Box 222, Akron, NY 14001 or a charity of one's choice.
