Rosemarie "Rosie" Gabbey passed away on Friday, July 18, 2025. She was born in Elma, NY on February 24, 1938 to the late Helen(Wendt) and John Eberth.
Rosemarie spent most of her adult life working as a cook and genuinely enjoyed cooking good comfort foods. Since she often worked early mornings, Rosemarie helped her customers begin their days on a positive note with her witty banter, jokes, and infectious smile. Friends and family looked forward to her holiday treats, delicious baked goods, and her signature pork spaghetti sauce. As an avid card player, she belonged to a neighborhood card club for many years and loved playing slots at the casino. Sudoku and reading biographies kept her mind active but her most cherished activity was spending time with loved ones.
Beloved wife of the late Ralph W. Gabbey; loving mother of Lisa (Glenn Adams) Melo and John (Janice) Gabbey; proud grandmother of Jacqueline (Jeff Schneider) Gabbey, Joshua (Janet) Gabbey, John (Pauline) Gabbey Jr; survived by eleven great-grandchildren; dear sister of Michael (Lewin) Eberth, Barbara (William) Arber, Rebecca (David) Brock, the late Grace (late Norman) Daniel, the late John (Carol) Eberth, the late Lavern "Bud" Eberth, the late William "Bill" (Joanne) Eberth, the late Theresa (late Donald) Hirsch, and the late Mary (Leon) Bauer. Rosemarie is also survived by a brother-in-law, James (Christine) Gabbey; sister-in-law Barbara (late Richard) Gabbey; and leaves behind many nieces and nephews along with chosen family Christine and Debbie Gerlock, Jane (Dylag) Bergmann, and many friends.
Arrangements by Ross Funeral Home of Akron, LLC. Friends and relatives will be invited to a service at the Western New York National Cemetery, 1254 Indian Falls Road, Corfu, New York where Rosemarie will be interred alongside Ralph at a date to be determined.
