Roland J. Mong (Jim), passed away on January 19, 2020. He was born in Buffalo, New York on July 7, 1936 to the late Irene Mong.
Jim was a 1954 graduate of South Park High School. He started working as a utility installer for Western Electric and worked through all of its buyouts until his first retirement in 1985. After retirement, he spent 15 years in Colorado and worked as a cable installer until his second retirement at the age of 62. Jim married the love of his life, Luthera (Humbert) and they raised three children together. She predeceased him in 2004. Jim loved anything with an engine and wheels-trains, automobiles, and motorcycles. He actually rode his motorcycle until he was 80 years old. Jim enjoyed tinkering and seemingly could build or fix anything.
Beloved father of Luanne (David) Infanti, Russell (Allene) Mong and Irene (David) Root; cherished grandfather of James and Stephanie Infanti, Victoria, Amy, and Elizabeth Root, Kevin and Eric Mong, and proud "motorcycle papa" to Logan Infanti.
