Robert M. Tiedt, “Bob”, of Akron passed away unexpectedly on April 30, 2023. He was born on February 12,1954, in Batavia, NY, to the late Robert C. and Eileen (Scalzetta) Tiedt.
Bob was a 1972 graduate of Akron Central High School. He continued his education at Purdue University, where he obtained a Business Management Degree in 1976. On June 4, 1977, he and Debbie Kazmierczak married, and they had five children together. Bob loved being outdoors and taking camping trips with his family. His bucket list included camping in all the national parks, such as Yosemite, Grand Canyon, and Mammoth Cave, where many fond memories were created. He was an avid walker, walking 15 miles a day around town, and often stopped to chat with friends. Bob will be remembered for his cheerful and friendly personality, which suited him well as a longtime usher at St. Teresa of Avila Church. He was also a member of the St. Teresa Finance Committee, the Newstead Library Board, and the Town of Newstead Recreation Department, where he received a Coach of the Year award. He walked through life with a camera, a good book, corny humor, a helping hand, and genuine kindness.
Beloved husband of Debbie (Kazmierczak) Tiedt; loving father of Shanan (Joe) Muscato, Christopher (Heather) Tiedt, Mark Tiedt, Kelley (Jason) Sims, and Andrew (Holly) Tiedt; proud grandfather of Charlie, Rory, Kinsley, Madelyn, Brody, and Oliver. Bob is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
