Robert Paul Masternak passed away after a long illness on February 17, 2020. The youngest child of the late Brownie and Dorothy Masternak,
Robert graduated from Lancaster High School in 1984. He was a roofer for many years before working as a grounds crew member at Transit Valley Country Club where he took great pride in cutting the front portico lawn. Robert loved the Buffalo Sabres, the Buffalo Bills, the UB Bulls Football Team, Nascar racing, Seinfeld, Star Trek, and Star Wars, and was a champion at Trivia Pursuit. An uber-fan of everything 1980s, it was a sad day for Robert when big hair went out of style, but thankfully he always had his favorite band, Journey. Don't Stop Believin' (that big hair will make a comeback)! He also never read a dad joke he didn't enjoy, but that's all in a day's pun.
Robert is survived by his daughters, Abby Masternak, Emma (Robert Peterson) Masternak, and Audrey (Jaron) Vaillancourt; two granddaughters, Addison Jean and newborn Sarah May, sisters, Diana (Bill) Newman and Melody (Romas) Vaitkus, niece, Colleen (Scott) Bruggman, lifelong friend Buddy (Trina) Shula, his former wife and best friend, Stephanie Masternak, and their goofy, loving golden retriever, Mulligan. He was predeceased by sister Joanne Cleveland and niece Rebecca Corun. Surely his late faithful canine companions, Schmooie Dog, Pettie Pie, and Allee Dog greeted him excitedly from Rainbow Bridge as he transitioned on.
By his wishes, no public services will be held. Family and friends will have a Celebration of Life Memorial at a later date TBD. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice Buffalo, 225 Como Parkway, Buffalo, NY 14
