Robert J. Faxlanger

Robert J. Faxlanger, age 87, of Williamsville, New York, passed away on May 26, 2023. Robert was born on February 24, 1936, in Williamsville, New York, to the late Joseph and Loretta (Langenfeld) Faxlanger.

He was married to his loving wife, Rose Ann (Culmo) Faxlanger, on February 15, 1958, and together they built a beautiful life centered around their family. A dedicated worker, Robert was employed as a machine repairman for American Axle and General Motors. He retired in 2000, leaving behind a strong legacy of hard work and commitment. In his free time, Robert enjoyed gardening, and he especially loved zinnias. Robert and his wife were actively involved in Marriage Encounter and Teams for many years. They established many long-lasting, loving friendships through these groups. Robert’s love for his family and friends was evident in every aspect of his life.

Robert is survived by his wife of 65 years, Rose Ann Faxlanger; their sons, Joseph (Barbara) and Thomas (Mary Beth) Faxlanger and daughter, Susan (Daniel) Farley; their grandchildren, Lisa (Jon) Fellinger, Kelly (Geoff) Froewiss, Tricia Faxlanger, Elizabeth and Erin Faxlanger, and Alexander and Nicholas Farley; and their great-grandson, Logan Fellinger. He is also survived by a sister-in-law, Sandra Faxlanger, and many nieces and nephews. Robert is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Joseph and Edward Faxlanger, Jean Meyer, and Loretta Bohrer.

Friends and relatives may call on Thursday, June 1, 2023, from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Ross Funeral Home of Akron, located at 10 Eckerson Avenue, Akron, New York, 14001. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 2, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Church (original church), located at 6919 Transit Road, East Amherst, New York, 14051. Please assemble at church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Robert's memory to Hospice Buffalo.
