Richard J. Martin, Jr.

Richard J. Martin, Jr., passed away on October 10, 2021. He was born in Buffalo, New York on December 9, 1950 to the late Richard J. and Frances (Nerthling) Martin.

Richard was a 1968 graduate of Hutch Tech High School and then went on to serve honorably in the United States Air Force. He married Gina (Strasser) July 14,1973 and they had four children together. Dickie worked as a machine operator for Upstate Niagara Coop for over 36 years. He enjoyed collecting toys and was an avid fan of the Yankees and Bandits. He loved chocolate and ice cream but his greatest love was spending time with his family.

Beloved husband of Gina. Loving father of Joe (Sandy) Skidmore, Richard (Patti) Martin, Anna (Paul) McIntyre, and Crystal (Charles) Rebmann. Dear brother of Robert (Carla) Martin and Nancy (Ron) Burkholder. Cherished grandfather of twelve and proud great grandfather of nine.

Friends and relatives may call on Thursday, October 14, 2021 from 12 to 4 PM at Ross Funeral Home of Akron, LLC. A Funeral Service will follow at 4:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions may be made in Dickie’s name to Cornerstone Veterinary Clinic, 81 Davison Ct., Lockport, NY 14094.
