Rebecca J. Schuler, affectionately known as Becky, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2023. She was born on March 17th, 1979, in Sycacuse, NY to Robert and Susan (Newton) Benjamin.
Rebecca's life was a testament to the profound impact one person can have when they passionately pursue their innate talents. Becky had a unique way of coloring the world with her vibrant personality and immeasurable talents. As an Art Teacher, she brilliantly used her skills to inspire the imaginations of her students, consistently demonstrating the power of creativity as a force that can change lives. She was a dedicated member of the Pembroke Youth Association and a steadfast Union Representative for the Teacher's Federation. Her love for music, baking, and fine crafts were the essence of her spirit, encapsulating her zest for life and the joy she brought to others.
Loving wife of Michael Schuler, adoring mother of Edward and Ethan; dear sister of Daniel (Therese) Benjamin, Adam Benjamin, Robin (Paul) Mezzanini. Becky is also survived by her Great Aunt, Jeanne Cowen, and numerous aunts, uncles, sister in laws, brother in laws, nieces, and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to honor Rebecca's life during calling hours on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, from 2:00 - 7:00 PM at Ross Funeral Home of Akron, located at 10 Eckerson Avenue, Akron, New York, 14001. Becky was an extraordinary, selfless and loving teacher of the arts. She believed deeply in caring for her students and giving them space to create, express themselves, and expand their potential. While gifted and committed to the fine arts, she also advocated for and supported music and theater arts her whole life.
