Paul Walter Stempniak passed away surrounded by his loving family on January 18, 2020. He was born in Buffalo, New York on March 22, 1948 to the late Joseph and Alfreda (Plawinski) Stempniak.

His love of mechanics enabled him to be trained as a mechanic for single rotor helicopters and he specialized on the Huey UH-1. As a crew chief in the 187th Assault Helicopter Company he earned the Air Medal. Upon returning from the service he married Vivian Brown in 1971 and worked as a diesel mechanic for many years while raising his family. Paul's love of antique cars never went away.

Beloved father of Brian (Karen) Stempniak and Jennifer (David) Freeman; cherished grandfather of Jamie (Jonathan) Plumlee, Julia Karpa, McKenna, Haily, and Brian Stempniak, Jr.; proud great grandfather of Phillip, Elijah, and Gabriel.
