Patricia R. Babiarz

Patricia R. Babiarz, of Akron passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on May 15, 2023. She was born in Batavia, New York. on June 8, 1935 to the late Harry and Viola (Egan) Swarts.

Patsy was a 1953 graduate of Akron Central High School. She married her late husband, Walter, on April 2, 1960 and together they started their family. Pat worked many years as a bus driver for the Akron Central School District, all the way up until her retirement. She was a proud member of the National Historical Society and especially enjoyed giving tours of the Octagon House. In her spare time, she enjoyed following her favorite soap operas and other shows. She absolutely loved Disney and going camping with her daughter, Missy.

Loving mother of the late Walter “Bunk” (Laurie) Babiarz, Melissa Babiarz, and Lynn (David) Roper; cherished grandmother of Lisa, Allan, Amanda, Jeff, and Jon; proud great- grandmother of six. She is also survived by a sister, Marianne Rosenberg as well as many nieces and nephews. Pat is predeceased by her husband, Walter (2004) and a brother, William Swarts.
