Muriel C. Burden

Muriel C. Burden, 99, of Tonawanda, New York, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2026. Muriel was born on December 20, 1926, in Buffalo, NY, to William and Catherine Risch. Her dedication to her family was evident in all aspects of her life and she took pride in creating a nurturing and loving environment in her home. 

Muriel was a devoted homemaker, a profession she carried out with the utmost dedication and care. She had a passion for sewing, playing the piano, and in her younger years, was a keen roller skater at Rainbow Rink. Muriel was the loving mother to Patricia Burden, MD., and John (Ann) Burden. She was the cherished grandmother to Jeremy (Michelle) Burden, Jennifer Burden, Laura (Trey) Van Cleave, and Catherine Burden. She was  great grandmother to Carter and Grayson Burden and Lily and Harper Van Cleave. Muriel was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton J. Burden and her parents, William and Catherine Risch. 

A Graveside Service will be held at the WNY National Cemetery on June 29, 2026, at 11:00AM. As we remember and celebrate Muriel's life, we invite you to leave memories and upload photos to her memorial page.
