MaryAnn Staszczyk

Maryann Staszczyk of Akron, NY entered into rest February 24, 2025. She was born on May 30, 1935 in Buffalo, New York to Edmund and Mary Zawadzki. 

Maryann’s life was filled with an immense love of family and an immense love of sports.  She was an avid Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres fan, cheering them on every season…win or lose…for many decades. While she enjoyed all sports, it was a teenage trip to Yankee Stadium that sparked a lifelong love affair with “her”  New York Yankees.  

She was predeceased by her siblings Sophie, Zygmund, Edmund, Zita and her twin Teresa. 

Maryann was the beloved mother of Donald Staszczyk, Susan Schmitt, Linda (David) Powers, Kim (Joseph) Mandel and Lisa (Christopher) Doering; cherished grandmother of Donald (Tara) Staszczyk, John (Yu-Hsuan Chen) Schmitt, Elicia (Joseph) Mielcarek, Shawn (Meagan) Staszczyk, Lynn Schmitt-Lyle (Duncan Lyle), Danielle (Bryan) Sherwood, PJ Wozniak, Christian (Jackie) Doering, David Powers (Katherine Heffron), Samantha Powers (Nicholas Fadale), Christopher Doering (Madison Turchiarelli) and Joey Mandel. She was a dear great grandmother to Landon, Chase, Brody, Jenna, Aly, Cole, Joey, Mason, Liam, Aiden, Savannah, Alice, Charlie, Logan and Baby Doering. 

Maryann will be dearly missed by all who knew her.  Her memory and her love of family and love of sports will carry on in the hearts of her family forever.
