Mary P. McLeod

Mary P. McLeod, of Akron, NY, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2024. Born in Buffalo, NY to the late Neil and Irma (Long) McLeod. 

A loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Mary was known for her warm-heartedness, love for animals, and appreciation of vibrant colors. She was a 1963 graduate of Akron Central High School and was an active member of the Akron Fire Company Inc. Ladies Auxiliary, through which she contributed significantly to her community. 

Mary is survived by her devoted children: Amanda (James) Kingsland, Kristin (Gary) PeQueen, Michael Levandowski Jr, and her cherished grandchildren: Ryan, Dominic, Christopher, Ethan, Jason Jr., Rachel, and Alex. She leaves behind her sisters, Diane (Rodger) Brown, Judith (Ronald) Thomas, and Sara (David) Klehn-Harvey, along with several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Neil and Irma McLeod, and her significant other, Michael Levandowski Sr. 

A Memorial Gathering will be held in honor of Mary on Sunday, May 5, 2024, at 11:00 am EDT at the Ross Funeral Home of Akron, located at 10 Eckerson Avenue, Akron, New York, 14001. All are welcome to join and celebrate Mary's life. Donations may be made in Mary's memory to the SPCA or the Akron Fire Company Inc.
