Mary J. Frye

Mary Frye of Akron, NY entered into rest on February 5, 2023. Born September 5, 1930 in Clarence, NY to the late Howard and Mary Ann  (Hain) Long.

Mary was part of the last class to graduate High School from Parker School in Clarence. She married her husband of over 58 years, John Frye in 1952. Mary worked for over 50 years as a dry cleaner/presser for Shepard and then Massaro Dry Cleaners. She loved watching football, everything from college to professional, especially the Bills. She had a passion for bingo and a spirited card game.

Beloved mother of Douglas (Margaret) Frye and Jeffrey (Donna) Frye; cherished grandmother of Adam (April) Frye, Sean (Allie) Frye, Christopher Frye,and Mary Frye; proud great grandmother of Aaron and Riley Frye. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Mary is predeceased by her husband, John Frye (2010); four brothers and a sister.

Friends and family are invited to call on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 from 3-7 p.m. at Ross Funeral Home of Akron, LLC, 10 Eckerson Avenue, Akron, NY where a Funeral Service will take place at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 9, 2023. Memorials may be made in Mary’s memory to Newstead Volunteer Fire Department.
