Martha J. Albrecht went home to be with the Lord on April 22, 2023. She was born in Akron, NY, on June 7, 1937, to the late Daniel and Alta (Meyer) Christner.
Marty’s flower gardens were a source of great joy to her but far greater was the joy she received in tending to her family and being involved in their lives. She also enjoyed wintering in Sarasota, FL, where she loved spending time with extended family there. She was a member of the Clarence Center-Akron Mennonite Church and served on the food committee for many years and was also a member of the sewing circle.
She was married to the late Clair J. Albrecht for 60 years. Beloved mother of Jay (Heidi) Albrecht, Clifford (Abigail) Albrecht, Tamara (David) Ferris, Pamela (Jack) Keough, and Virginia (Ronald) Martin. She is cherished by her 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Marty was the loving sister of Virginia (late Joseph) Erb, Betty (Paul) Miller, Shirley (Joseph) Frey, and June (Donald) Risser. She was predeceased by five brothers: Theodore, Leo, James, Daniel (late Grace), and Walter (late Marjorie).
A visitation will be held on Friday, May 5, 2023, from 6 to 9 PM at the Ross Funeral Home, 10 Eckerson Avenue, Akron, NY. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at 11 AM at the Clarence Center-Akron Mennonite Church, 11500 Clarence Center Road, Akron, NY. In lieu of flowers, contributions made to Beaver Camp of Lowville, NY, would be appreciated.
