Lyle G. Fix

Everyone’s beloved milkman dies at the age of 84.

Lyle G. Fix of Alden/Akron, NY passed away peacefully with his family at his side on March 8, 2020. Son of the late Howard and Verna Fix; brother of Shirley (Fix) Lantz and the late Geraldine (Fix) Cieszki, and Ellen (Fix) Faucett. He was a devoted and loving husband of 63 years to Betty (Sturm) Fix.  Father of five children, Ken (Beth) Fix, Tom Fix, Paul (Becky) Fix, JoAnne Fix, and Dawn (Mike) James.  Cherished grandfather to seven grandchildren and loving Papa to three great grandchildren. He is survived by many nieces and nephews.

At the age of 21 he and his father bought their first milk truck route that was established in 1956. He worked tirelessly seven days a week and has fond memories of his milk producers. After 48 years in the milk business his son Paul, and wife, Becky took over the milk truck business which is still known as Fix Trucking.

The Farm where he was born and raised still thrives today and is run by his son, Ken and wife, Beth, known today as K&B Farms. In his spare time, Lyle was a Crittenden Volunteer Fireman and recently received his 50 year pin for voluntary service.  He was an avid car, truck, and tractor enthusiast. His pride and joy was his antique restored 1947 KB International pick- up truck. He proudly displays his numerous trophies of 1st Place and Best of Show that he won at car shows. His love for working chicken barbeques and roasting pigs for pig roasts brought him much joy because it allowed him to spend time with family and friends.

No prior Visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2020 at 3:00 PM at St. John’s  R.C. Church, 221 Sandridge Rd., Alden, NY 14004. Please assemble at church between 2:00 – 3:00 PM.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lyle’s memory to the Crittenden Fire Hall, Hospice Buffalo, or St. John the Baptist R.C. Church.
