With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Lavina “Lee“ Lucas, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Lavina was a pillar of the community and a beacon of love and warmth to all those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Lavina spent more than 25 years working at Mary’s Good and Plenty Restaurant in Akron, where she was fondly regarded by coworkers and customers alike, all of whom affectionately called her “Sneakers.” She loved relaxing with her favorite magazines and took great delight in Hallmark movies, enjoying their simple stories of love, family, and happy endings. Above all, Lavina treasured her own family. Her grandchildren, in particular, were the joy of her life, and she embraced every moment she spent with them.
Lavina is survived by her children; Robert (Cheryl) Lucas, Dianne (Jim Capan) Lucas, Donna Lucas, Doug (Carolyn Miles) Lucas, and Richard (Cindy) Lucas. She was a cherished grandmother to nine and a proud great-grandmother to five. She also leaves behind her dear sister, Claudia (late Richard) Stanley. Besides her parents, Carl and Lavina (Beyer) Fischer, Lavina was preceded in death by her husband of 18 years, Robert Lucas and by a grandson, James Robert Capan.
A Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Thursday at Ross Funeral Home of Akron, LLC, 10 Eckerson Avenue, Akron, NY 14001 where a Funeral Service will follow at 7:00 PM. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Park in Amherst, NY.
We invite you to share your favorite memories of Lavina and upload photos to her memorial page at rossakron.com.
