Kim Vanice Obituary

Kim M. Vanice, of Akron, NY, passed away on April 3, 2026. Born on March 24, 1967, in Buffalo, NY, Kim was a beacon of light and joy to those who knew her. She carried a love for everything Disney, Webkinz, and crafting. Her passion for sports and holiday celebrations was contagious, and her love for her dog, Coco was unparallelled, Kim was an outgoing, social, and passionate woman who left an indelible mark on everyone she met.

Kim dedicated her life to serving her community as a Social Worker at Aspire. Her passion for her work was evident in the countless lives she touched. She was a member of the L.L. Tilman American Legion Post 900 and Nativity Catholic Church. Her spirit of service and her warm personality will be greatly missed.

Kim leaves behind a loving family, including her beloved husband, Chauncey Vanice; her cherished sons, Tyler (Amanda) Vanice and Hunter Vanice; and her dear sister, Cindy Battistoni. She is also survived by her nephew and niece, Chad and Chalsey Van Buren. Kim was preceded in death by her parents, Eric Battistoni and Sharon (DeGeorge) Rickard, and her "dad", Frederick "Louie" Rickard. 

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 pm on Friday, April 10, 2026, at Ross Funeral Home of Akron, LLC., 10 Eckerson Avenue, Akron, NY 14001, A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Nativity Church in Clarence, NY.
