Kenward (Kenny) Cummings Obituary

Kenward L. Cummings (Kenny) died suddenly on January 24, 2021 at the Zephyrhills Hospital in Florida. He was born in Akron, New York on December 9,1930 to the late Leon and Berniece Cummings.

Kenny honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He started working for Erie County in 1949 until his retirement in 1986. Ken was the Akron Falls Park Superintendent from 1963 to 1986. He was a member of the American Legion, Kiwanis Club, and the Newstead Republican Party. Kenny was a Republican Committee man for over twenty-five years and served as vice-chair for several of those years. He enjoyed playing cards and woodworking.

His wife, Marion C. Cummings predeceased him in 2005. Loving stepfather of Cheryl Smith, Mary Printup, and Kay (Kirk Jago) Garrett; cherished grandfather of Colleen Seguin, Brenda Regan, Henry Printup Jr., Becky Ervolina, Jessica Culbert, and Amanda Biaselli.  Nine great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; a sister, Audrey Tuchols and several nieces and nephews also survive him. Ken is also predeceased by a brother, Elwyn (Shirley) Cummings.

Friends and relatives may call on Thursday, April 29 from 11 to 12 pm at the Ross Funeral Home of Akron, LLC. Services will take place at 12pm. Donations may be made in Kenny's memory to Hospice Buffalo.
