Karen Skalski passed away peacefully on November 27, 2024. She was born on March 7, 1963 in Buffalo, NY to the late John and Joan (Schuler) Skalski.
Karen was a beloved member of her community and a devoted Sunday School teacher at St. Teresa's Church for 42 years. Her steadfast commitment to her faith and her love for her students were an inspiration to all who knew her. In addition to her work at the church, what mattered most to Karen were her clients where she worked 31 years as a Personal Care Assistant for AfterCare. A caring and social individual, she took immense pride in the relationships she built and the care she provided.
Karen leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory; her siblings, John (Lorie) Skalski, Annette Skalski, Joseph (Shannon) Skalski, Margaret (Kathleen) Schotto; her niece, Dezaray Skalski, four nephews, Martin and Jonathan Schotto, Dillon and Colby Adamczak, several cousins, and her cats, Simba and Kyra.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at 11 AM with a Funeral Luncheon to follow at St.Teresa of Avila Church, 5771 Buell Street, Akron, NY, 14001. Arrangements were made by Ross Funeral Home of Akron, LLC.
As we mourn the loss of Karen, we also celebrate her life and the love she brought into the lives of those around her. In her honor, charitable contributions may be made to the S.P.C.A. or the American Heart Association.
