Jytte Jacobsen

On Monday February 6, 2023, Jytte Jacobsen passed away at the age of 92. She leaves a huge hole in the hearts of her family who were always entertained by her words of wisdom and stories of her life. 

Jytte sought to spread joy to everyone she met, whether they were family, friends, grocery store clerks, and even complete strangers. She never failed to put smiles on people’s faces.

Jytte was born on March 10, 1930 in Copenhagen, Denmark. At the age of 20, she married the love of her life, Jorgen Jacobsen. They were blessed with two beautiful daughters and immigrated to the United States in 1959. Jytte was Director of Medical Records at Brother’s of Mercy until she retired in 1997.

Jytte was predeceased by her husband Jorgen Jacobsen of 62 years and her daughter, Vibeke Holtz. She is survived by her daughter, Lis Jacobsen, grandchildren, Danielle Chase (Rob Chase), Nathan Cummings, Nicole Klonowski (Danny Klonowski), great-grandchildren, Tyler Zimmermann, Emmie Chase, Gavin Klonowski, and Dakota Klonowski.

Interment will be at Evergreen Lawn cemetery next to her husband. There will be a private memorial with her close family to celebrate Jytte’s amazing long life. If you wish to make a donation in honor of Jytte, please consider donating to Hospice of Buffalo.
