Judith L. Meyer, aged 81, of Akron, New York, peacefully passed away on September 25, 2024. Born in Batavia, New York, on July 5, 1943, Judith lived a full and vibrant life dedicated to her family and community. She was the dedicated and loving wife of Samuel Meyer, with whom she shared a remarkable 63 years of marriage after their vows were exchanged on February 11, 1961.
Judith retired from a fulfilling career as a deli manager with Pixley's Shurfine Foodmart, where she was well-loved and respected by coworkers and customers alike. In her leisure time, she found joy in playing cards and Mahjong, and was an active member of the Red Hat Club. She will be fondly remembered for her lively spirit, compassion, and the love she held for her family.
Judith is survived by her loving husband, Samuel; her cherished sons, Robert, Craig (Kelly), and Allen (Dawn); adored grandchildren Tori and Andy; and dear sisters Roberta Tabone and Marilyn (Jack) Mosier. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews. Judith was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Betty Fotheringham, and a sister, Linda Fotheringham.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Tonawanda Indian Baptist Church, 565 Bloomingdale Road, Basom, NY. This will be followed by a Memorial Service at 1:00 PM at the same location. We invite all who knew Judith to join us in celebrating her life and sharing the memories she left behind. We encourage friends and loved ones to contribute their memories and upload photos to Judith's memorial page.
