Judith A. Bell of Akron, NY passed away peacefully on January 27, 2023 at St. Catherine’s LaBouré in Buffalo, NY. She was born in Buffalo on January 18, 1936 to the late Henry and Ann Filipski.
Judith was a 1954 graduate of Bishop McMahon High School. She married her late husband Gordon Bell on April 27, 1956 and they were blessed with two sons and over 58 wonderful years together. In addition to being a loving wife and dedicated mother, Judith worked for Perry’s Ice Cream and after retirement for the Newstead Town Court until age 83. She was a true “people person” and leaves behind scores of friends including the “Widow Wagon”. Everyone who walked by her front porch on summer nights received an “hello” and friendly conversation. Judith loved attending her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events and was the Akron Tigers baseball team’s number one fan, rarely missing a home game and usually the first to arrive to reserve her favorite parking space,
Devoted mother of Gregory (Judith) Bell and Timothy Bell (late1984); beloved grandmother of Pierson (Aimee) Bell and Jessica (Joseph) Caprio; cherished great-grandmother of Kai Bell and Finn Caprio: dear sister of Gerald (late Angela) Filipski, David (Pamela) Filipski; sister-in-law of Gary (Joan) Bell and special foster grandmother to Eric, Elizabeth, and Debra. She is predeceased by her husband, Gordon Bell (2014).

Friends and relatives may call on Friday, February 17, 2023 from 4 - 8 PM at Ross Funeral Home of Akron, LLC., 10 Eckerson Avenue, Akron, NY 14001. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at 10 AM. at St. Teresa’s Church, 5771 Buell Street, Akron, New York (Please assemble at church).
