Judith A. Beers passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness on September 16th, 2025. Judie, as she known to many, was born in Buffalo, N.Y. on July 17th, 1951. Judie lived a life marked by love, strength, and a zest for life that touched everyone who had the joy of knowing her.
Throughout the years, Judie became a licensed cosmetologist and a school bus driver for Lake Shore School District. Her dedication didn’t end there—she also served as Town of Newstead assistant dog control officer and court bailiff. The job she held most dear was being a nanny to the Smith family. These roles, though varied, reflected her versatility, compassion, and unwavering commitment to those around her.
A true lover of animals and being outdoors, Judie found joy in the simple things—watching hummingbirds, spending time in nature, frequenting local restaurants, helping care for the animals at the farm, riding with Danny in his semi-truck, driving to Florida to visit her dad, going to the different Amish Stores and caring for her dog Lena.
Judie is survived by her devoted life partner of 45 years, Daniel Cummings; her step-son Chad (Kristen) Cummings; and her siblings Rhonda Chamberlin, Richard (late Jane) Brewster, and Sandra (Michael) Wright. She also leaves behind a legacy of love in her grandchildren—Jessica, Jacob, Julianna, Emily, Callan, and Abby—as well as several nieces, nephews, and great-nephews.
She was predeceased by her son, Jeffrey Robert Beers and step-son, Brad Cummings, her father Richard Brewster, and her mother Evelyn Brewster (nee Patten). Though she is no longer with us, her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 19, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Ross Funeral Home of Akron, LLC, 10 Eckerson Avenue, Akron, NY 14001.
A memorial service will take place on Saturday at 11:00 AM at Royalton Bible Church, 8457 Bunkerhill Rd., Gasport, N.Y.
The family requests any donations in Judie's name be made to Hospice of Buffalo.
We invite friends and loved ones to visit Judie's memorial page to share stories, memories, and photographs. Your tributes will help celebrate and honor the extraordinary life of Judith Beers.
