John Mitchell Rogers

John Mitchell Rogers, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend passed away unexpectedly on February 10, 2026. He was born on  February 6, 1954 to the late George M. Rogers and Alice (Valentine) Nicometi.

John is survived by his best friend and wife of 35 years, Mary Anne (Jones) Rogers, and their children: John N. (Jacqueline) Rogers, Kyle (Tiffany) Rogers, Shannon (Eric) Radka, and Craig (Amanda) Nice. He was a proud grandfather to Evan, Tyler, and Brett Rogers; Konor, Noah, and Adelyn Rogers; Blake, Gavin, and Haven Radka; Jackson, Jameson, and Jayden Nice. He was a cherished brother to Sandra (late Dennis), Bernhardt, Kathie (Gary Roth) Patterson, Gary (Diane) Rogers, Theresa (Jim) Gioia, Tom (Chris) Nicometi, Donna (Bill) Short, Tracy Rogers. He was a fond uncle to many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. John will be deeply missed by his inlaws, Craig and Joanne Jones, Cord Jones, Chris (Kris) Jones and by many cousins and friends. John is also survived by his beloved dog, Roscoe, his special furry friend and loyal companion. In addition to his parents and brother in law, John was preceded in death by his stepfather, Andrew Nicometi

For 47 years, John dedicated himself to his career at Perry’s Ice Cream, retiring after nearly five decades of loyal and hardworking service. 

Friends and family may call from 4:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, March 6, 2026 at Ross Funeral Home of Akron, LLC. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at the funeral home. In honor of John, we invite you to share your memories and photos on his memorial page.
