John P. Jendrowski

John Jendrowski, affectionately known as “Jack” and “Mr. J,” was a man of kindness, warmth, and unwavering devotion to his family. He passed away peacefully on August 9, 2026, surrounded by those he loved. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

John's love for his family was unmistakable, and he wore the titles of husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother with immense pride. He was the beloved husband for 65 years of Elberta "Bert" Humbert; cherished father of John (Paula) Jendrowski, James (Lani) Jendrowski, Marge Jendrowski, Julie (Doug Dunn) Frey, Mary Jo Jendrowski, Jeff (Jill) Jendrowski, his beautiful adopted daughter, Sandra Solares. His joy was multiplied as he became a loving papa to John, Marit, Taylor, Rachel, Jena, Rabecca, Collin, Sarah, Lydia, and Emma, and a proud JaJa great-grandfather to Elijah. John was a dear brother to Kathy (late James) Macris, Joan (Tim) Derkovitz, the late William Jendrowski, Aline Polito, Patricia Glendinning, Daniel (Gloria) Jendrowski, and Christine (late Raymond) Dell. Jack is also survived by many nieces and nephews. 

John's love for children extended beyond his family. He volunteered for 15 years at Country Care Day Care Center, making a difference in the lives of countless children. In his leisure time, John enjoyed the lively rhythms of swing music, the friendly competition of bowling, and the challenge and camaraderie of card games. But, what mattered most to John was the time he spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. These moments, filled with laughter, stories, and love, were his most treasured times.

A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, August 13, 2026 at Ross Funeral Home of Akron, LLC, 10 Eckerson Avenue, Akron, NY 14001. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, August 14, 2026 at St. Teresa of Avila Church,  5771 Buell Street, Akron, NY 14001.
