Joan Utton

Joan (Brucker) Utton passed away surrounded by family on October 22, 2025. She was born in Buffalo, NY on May 17, 1950 to the late Lloyd and Margaret (Peters) Brucker. She was a graduate of Akron central High School and will always be remembered for her deep love for her family, her home, and her cherished dog, Rufus. 

Joan was a woman who found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. Her hobbies, which included bird and squirrel watching, cooking, baking, and caring for her home, were a testament to her gentle and nurturing spirit. She had a particular fondness for Blue Jays, their colorful presence brightening her days.

Joan's dedication to her family was unwavering. She was the loving wife of Ronald Utton and the beloved mother of Michele (David) Janetzke, and Pamela Dickinson. Joan is also survived by her niece, Anne (Todd) Lotz and nephew, Michael Brucker. She was predeceased by her brother, Robert Brucker and a niece.

Her passion for her home was evident in the pride she took in maintaining it. Holidays were a special time for Joan, where she could express her love for her family with her beautiful holiday decorations and through her excellent cooking and baking. No doubt, the warmth of Joan's home and heart will be greatly missed.

Per Joan's wishes, cremation has taken place and private services will be held at a later date. We invite all who knew Joan to share their memories and upload photos to her memorial page.
