Pembroke — Jeremy Richard Gabbey Sr., 39, of Pembroke

Jeremy was born in the city of Batavia on August 26, 1982. He was the son of Guy and Elizabeth Gabbey.

Jeremy was the loving husband of 18 years to Allison Winch Gabbey and the proud father and best friend of Jeremy Richard Gabbey Jr. He was the light of their lives.  He is survived by his parents, Guy and Elizabeth Gabbey of Corfu; brother, Guy (Joanna) Gabbey of Springville and “little brother,” Andrew (Erika) Gabbey of Pembroke; mother and father-in-law, Neil and Pamela Winch of Strykersville; sisters-in-law, Kara Otto (Aaron) of Virginia and Molly Flavin (Dane) of Piffard. Also surviving are his beloved nephews and nieces, uncles and aunts, and his cousins that were as close as siblings. 

Jeremy was a devoted family man, a wonderful son, husband, dad and brother. He adored his wife Allison and was a hero to son Jeremy Jr.

Jeremy attended Brockport State College where he played football for 4 seasons from 2000-2003. His team won the Lambert Cup and will be inducted into the Brockport Hall of Fame in the fall of 2022.

Jeremy was employed with the U.S. Department of Treasury. Jeremy was a proud Pembroke Dragon. He loved football and continued assisting Pembroke Football with scouting and filming. He was also very involved with the Basketball programs keeping the stats every season. He never missed even one game.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, August 5th. at High Point Church at 1163 Main Road Corfu, NY. The funeral service will be Saturday August 6th at 11AM at High Point Church.  The Rev. Robert Dean will officiate. Burial will be in the Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Corfu. At the family’s request, in lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Jeremy’s memory may be made to Allison Gabbey to create a “Jeremy Gabbey Sr. Athletic Scholarship” at his beloved alma mater Pembroke Central School.
