James L. Matusek, 82, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2026, following a brief illness. He was born to the late Laslie and Celia Matusek and grew up in Akron, NY. Jim was an Army veteran and spent many years as a professional truck driver before retiring
He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Christine; his two sons, James and Michael (Jean); his daughter, Michele (Steven); and his grandson, Mark.
Jim had a lifelong interest in classic cars and racing, spending many happy hours at car shows and cruise nights with family, and helping his son Jim warm tires in the burnout box at the drags. He shared his love of collecting antiques with Chris, and enjoyed summers around campfires with friends in Holley, NY, where he tirelessly helped everyone in the campground with their golf carts.
