With profound respect and admiration, we celebrate the spirited life of Irene Frances Batt. Born on September 20, 1938, in Williamsville, NY, Irene was a beacon of love, humor, and steadfast support to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her incredible journey concluded on March 31, 2025, leaving behind an enduring legacy of kindness and generosity. Throughout her life, Rene held a remarkable ability to captivate the hearts of many with her exceptional personality and invincible spirit.
Irene was a loving homemaker, dedicating her life to the care and nurture of her family and beloved homes, first in Clarence Center and later in Akron, New York. She married the love of her life, her late husband Gregory Batt in August 1956 and they spent 57 years together growing their beautiful family. Her generous soul extended beyond her home, as she volunteered her time to causes close to her heart, including the St Teresa's Women's Guild and the local food pantry. Irene's faith was a guiding force in her life, and she served her community as a church volunteer for many years. Her hobbies reflected her love for life and learning. From traveling and golfing with friends, to ceramics, to her thirst for knowledge through endless reading, Irene was always on the quest for new experiences. Her trip out west with her late husband, Gregory, along with all their memorable trips to Florida were some of her most cherished memories. Irene's heart of inclusion was felt by all, she always had the coffee pot on and an ear to listen. She always checked in on everyone and her impact on others would be a rippling effect of love, compassion, generosity and steady support.
Irene is survived by her children Gregory Batt, Jeffrey(Brenda) Batt, Bradley(Jessica) Batt, Dawn(Michael) Farnsworth, Nicole Ehrenreich and Denuelle(Donald) Meyer. Along with 12 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and countless other loving family members and friends. Irene was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Mildred Cragg along with her siblings Norma Gimbrone, Patricia Campbell Robert Cragg and her granddaughter, Jenea MacLeod. Despite her absence, her memory continues to inspire those who knew her. We invite all who knew Rene to join us in remembering her life.
