Hazel Marquardt passed away on March 22, 2025. Hazel was born in Akron, on October 19, 1936, and lived her life dedicated to creating a warm and welcoming home for her family. As a homemaker, she found joy in cooking, especially when preparing her children's chosen birthday dinners, each complemented by a special birthday cake. Known throughout her community for making the best pies, Hazel's kitchen was a place of comfort and joy. Her love for animals was deep, especially for her cherished cat, Pumpkin.
Hazel was predeceased by her parents Norman(Fanny) Hoste, two brothers and a sister along with her beloved husband, Harold Marquardt, two grandchildren, Justin and Melissa as well as her son in law, James Bradfield. Her resilience and strength were an inspiration to all who knew her. She is survived by her children Harold "David" Marquardt, Cheryl Bradfield, Theresa Lee (Don) Deho, Kim (Gary) Sage, Gregory Marquardt and Vivian(Larry) Whitesell, who will miss their mother's caring nature and the warmth of her home. Her sister Shirley Smith along with 12 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild also survive her.
Friends and family are invited to attend calling hours on Monday, March 31, at 11AM at Ross Funeral Home of Akron, located at 10 Eckerson Avenue, Akron, New York, 14001. The funeral service will follow at 2PM.
