Gregory Kidney Obituary

Gregory A. Kidney, affectionately known as Greg was a beacon of light in the lives of many. Born on November 18, 1970, in Lockport, NY to Raymond Kidney and Susanne Fry.  Greg was a courageous soul with a contagious sense of humor. He was the epitome of reliability, always there when you needed him, and his loyalty was unmatched. A person of substance and character, he bravely walked the path of life, leaving indelible footprints wherever he went. As Helen Keller said, "Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired, and success achieved." Gregory embodied this beautifully.

Greg was a man of many talents. His craftsmanship as a mechanic was renowned throughout the transportation industry, where he dedicated 34 fulfilling years. His penchant for problem-solving was not only reflected in his work but also in his personal life. Yet, his most precious achievement was the family he built with his loving wife, Christene, whom he married on July 19, 1997. Gregory's love for his family was as vast as the ocean, as he often put their needs above his own. He was a devoted father to his sons, Colton (Danielle) Schmidt, Daniel and Jack Kidney and their memories of him will forever be etched with his funny anecdotes, courageous tales, and his reliable and loyal nature. He enjoyed camping and deer hunting. He had a love for football. He played in his youth, coached little league as a dad and enjoyed NFL Sundays. He was his boys #1 fan as he cheered and encouraged them at every sporting event he attended.

Greg is survived by his loving family: his wife of 26 years, Christene (Grace) Kidney; his children, Colton (Danielle) Schmidt, Daniel Kidney, and Jack Kidney; three grandchildren Freyja, Christoph, and Sadie Schmidt; his parents Raymond (Fran) Kidney and Suzanne (late Gerald) Fry; his brothers Bruce Kidney and Steven Kidney. Several uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews also survive him. In addition to many good friends, Greg is predeceased by his sister Cathy Hall.
