Gary Mulrain, born on May 23, 1953, passed away on May 13, 2024 surrounded by family, after a courageous battle with cancer. He spent much of his life in Akron, New York, where he touched many lives through his work, his hobbies, and his community involvement.
Gary was a dedicated Vocational Instructor, having retired from the Buffalo Psych Center in Buffalo, New York. He created and operated a thriving home-inspection business, and loved helping new homebuyers feel safe and secure in their homes. His commitment to education and development extended beyond his professional life and into his personal interests as well.
A skilled and creative craftsman, Gary found joy in woodworking and gardening, and he was always eager to share his knowledge and passion with others. He was an outdoorsman at heart who loved to experience nature's wonders firsthand, especially through cherished camping trips. His commitment to the community was evident through his active participation in several organizations. Gary was a proud member of the Western New York Alliance of Home Inspectors and active with Troop 559 of The Boy Scouts of America. His dedication to youth development shone brightly in his roles as Assistant Scoutmaster, Eagle Scout Mentor, and Troop Commissioner. Indeed, his influence and mentorship will continue in the hearts and minds of the many lives he guided.
