Evelyn Jonathan, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2020. She was born in Buffalo, NY on June 11, 1934 to the late Paddy and Violette (Sundown) Ground.
Evelyn was a proud member and Clan mother of the Wolf clan. She worked for many years at Fisher Price. She enjoyed cooking and sewing. One of her great passions was teaching the Seneca language and culture.
She is survived by her loving husband, Kervin Jonathan; two sisters, Patricia Ground and Andrea Ground; her beloved children, Marilyn (Albert Abrams) Jonathan, Maureen (Chester) Logan, Brenda Jonathan, Leon Jonathan, Deanna Jonathan, Don Jonathan, Darwin (Monica Webster) Jonathan, Kenneth (Nadine) Jonathan, Leland (Larue) Jonathan, Mahlon (Kim) Jonathan, Jacklyn (late Bryan) Printup. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and many Seneca language students. Four brothers, Gilbert Ground Sr., Sam Ground Sr., Leroy Ground, and Warren Ground; two sisters, Lovella Parker and Loretta Ground and son Kelvin (Goon) Jonathan predeceased her.
Family will be present at 218 Skye Road till the time of a Service at 1 pm on Wednesday, June 24, 2020. A Long House Service will follow at 2 pm. Burial to follow at the Jonathan Family Plot.
