Ervin Easton Jr. Obituary

Ervin E. Easton Jr., 73, of Akron, passed away on February 20, 2026. A man of diverse interests and accomplishments, he embodied the spirit of adventure and service. Ervin was born on September 8, 1952, in Buffalo, NY to the late Ervin Sr. and Margaret Easton.

Ervin spent his career as a Corrections Officer, retiring after 25 years of service from the NYDOCCS, Wende Correctional Facility. Beyond his career, he enjoyed golf, camping, and was an avid motorcycle rider. He was also a private pilot, soaring into the skies whenever he had the chance. His love for music was evident in his guitar playing, a hobby he cherished. A dedicated member of CVMA Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association 19-6 and Patriot Guard Riders, Ervin also served as a past commander of American Legion Post 900. He also taught Kenpo Karate, where he achieved an orange belt with a plaque in 1974.

Ervin is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Sharon; his children, Alecia and Lacey Easton; grandchildren, Andrew J. Congdon and Wyatt A. Easton. He is also survived by his sister, Debbie (Richard) Mayer, along with several nieces and nephews. 

A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 1st from 1-4pm at Ross Funeral Home of Akron, LLC. 10 Eckerson Ave, Akron, where a service will follow at 4pm. A Burial with Military Honors will be held at the WNY National Cemetery at 1:00 PM on May 1, 2026.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family.
