Duella D. Odell

Duella D. Odell, peacefully passed away on September 7, 2023, at the age of 91. She was born in Oakfield, NY to the late William and Duella (Hartman) Dick. She was a lifelong resident of Akron, NY, where she filled her home with love, music, and care. 

Duella was a devoted housewife, known for her caring yet firm nature. She enjoyed music and singing, often filling her home with melodies that brought comfort and warmth. An avid bowler, she found joy and camaraderie on the lanes. Duella was also skilled at crocheting, creating beautiful pieces for her loved ones. Her love for her family was evident in her hard work on the family farm. She dedicated over 25 years of her life to volunteering for the Red Cross Blood Mobile, demonstrating her selfless nature and commitment to helping others.

Cherished mother of Daniel (Margaret) Odell, Mark (Tracy) Odell, Stephen (Eleanor) Odell, Andrew (Michael) Odell and Mathew (Tracy) Odell; loving grandmother of thirteen and proud great grandmother of twenty- two. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Duella is predeceased by her husband of 64 years Richard Odell and three brothers.

The family will receive friends at Ross Funeral Home of Akron, 10 Eckerson Avenue, Akron, New York, 14001, on Sunday, September 10, 2023, from 3:00 to 6:00 pm.  A Funeral Service will be held in the same location on Monday, September 11, 2023, at 11:00 am.
