Douglas A. Farrell

Douglas A. Farrell, passed away on January 17, 2022. He was born in Buffalo, New York on August 17, 1928 to the late Arthur Farrell and Gladys Mills..

Doug served his country honorably during World War II in the United States Navy. He returned home and graduated in the Akron High School Class of 1950. He was the owner and operator of Farrell’s Tavern for many years. Doug was a member of the American Legion LL Tillman Post 900, the VFW Post #3180, and was also an exempt member of the Akron Fire Company. Doug loved playing music and was a member of the Bergholtz German Band and Jazz Club. He enjoyed golfing in his spare time. Doug was truly a people person and would strike up a conversation with everyone that he met.

Loving father of Dana Farrell and David Farrell; cherished grandfather of Justin (Jill) Farrell, Megan (Tom) Scheeler and Ryan Farrell; proud great- grandfather of Easton Scheeler, Ellie Scheeler, and John Farrell. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.  Doug is predeceased by his wife, Willa (House) Farrell and a granddaughter, Kaitlyn Marie Farrell.

Friends may call on Saturday, January 22, 2022 from 2-5 PM at the Ross Funeral Home of Akron, LLC, 10 Eckerson Avenue, Akron, NY where a Memorial Service will be held at 5 PM. Donations may be made in Doug's memory to a charity of one's choice.
