Debby Bergman of Lancaster, NY, loving wife and mother of two children, passed away at the age of 55 in Buffalo, NY on Saturday, February 15, 2020. Debby was married to Michael Bergman of Lancaster, NY and had two daughters, Nevada and Tressa Bergman. She was born on December 19, 1964 in Madrid, Spain to Leroy and Gitta Sheppard.
She attended schools in New Jersey and was a graduate of Goldey Beacom College in Wilmington, Delaware. Debby enjoyed a successful career as an executve secretary at CoreStates Financial, Lincoln Financial Group, and most recently, Professional Plastics.
Debby was the twin sister of the late Terry Sheppard of Milton, Delaware. She is also survived by a brother, Lee Sheppard of NJ and sister, Heidi Human of Delaware. Debby was enthusiastic about fitness and nutrition for most of her life. She was a certified fitness instructor and taught aerobics. She became credentialed and facilitated a divorce support group in her diocese. She enjoyed keeping Nevada and Tressa involved in church, swimming, dance, and music. She took joy in their accomplishments. Debby’s life was centered around her family, her faith, and her career.
At the time of her passing, Debby was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Lancaster, NY. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 22, at 11:00 AM at Faith United Methodist Church, 5505 S. Broadway, Lancaster, NY and will be preceded by visitation beginning at 10:00 AM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers and gifts, the family requests donations be made to: The Bergman Children Education Fund, 8 Marshall Avenue, Akron, NY 14001. Arrangements were made by Ross Funeral Home of Akron, LLC.
