David Alexander, fondly known as "Wolfie" by those closest to him, entered into rest on September 8, 2025 after a long battle with cancer. David was born on September 5, 1955, in Batavia, NY, and later became a cherished member of the Akron community.
Dave attended Akron High School and worked in the Gypsum mines before venturing into the food service industry. He was the proud owner of Nic's Village Deli for 24 years, where his warmth, infectious laughter, and delicious food made the deli a beloved spot in Akron. He retired in 2023, leaving a lasting legacy in the community. David was also a devoted husband to Melissa Rudz, whom he married on August 9, 1997. Their loving union was blessed with two daughters, and they made many precious memories together over 28 years of marriage.
Besides his wife, Dave is survived by his daughters, Jessica (David) Szypulski of Wallace, WV. and Melissa Rose Stubbs of Lockport, NY and four grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Daniel Alexander of Akron, Joey (Sara) Alexander of Akron, Randy (Kathy) Alexander of Corfu, and Lisa (Patrick) Lederhouse of Akron, as well as many nieces and nephews. Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Roger and Hazel (Falker) Alexander as well as his nephew, Joshua Alexander.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects from 4:00 to 8:00 PM on Monday, September 15, 2025, at Ross Funeral Home of Akron, LLC., 10 Eckerson Avenue, Akron, NY 14001. Charitable contributions may be made in Dave's memory to Buffalo Hospice.
