David A. Ross peacefully passed away on September 12, 2021. He was born on April 22, 1939 to the late Adrian and Mary (Slack) Ross.
Dave was a proud graduate of Akron High School, Niagara University, and Simmons Mortuary School. He joined his father in the family business, serving as a funeral director for over 50 years. During this time, he also mentored two of his sons and a granddaughter to follow in his footsteps. Beyond his role in the funeral industry, Dave had a diverse career. He worked as an Erie County Sheriff, served as an ambulance driver, and co-owned the Ross Paint & Wallpaper store with his father. Dave was actively involved in his community as a Village of Akron trustee, an Akron Central School bus driver, and a member of the Akron Lion’s Club, the Elks, and the Rotary Club of Akron. A passionate traveler, Dave cherished his annual trips to Myrtle Beach with his children. He was also a devoted Buffalo Bills fan, enjoying every Sunday game surrounded by his family. Known for his sense of humor, Dave loved making people smile and was always ready with a joke.
