Darlene Lauer

Darlene Lauer, passed away suddenly on July 16, 2024. She was born on March 28, 1963, in Buffalo, NY to Richard and Joan (Symenow) Kempisty.

Darlene poured love into everything she did and worked for many years in the hospitality industry where she was known and loved by many. She was an extraordinary woman who turned ordinary moments into memories of a lifetime. Family was the heart of Darlene’s world and her life was a testament to the power of love and kindness. She will be deeply missed, but her zest for life and the love she had for her family will forever remain in our hearts.

She was the loving mother of Jessica and Julie Ewing, Cheyenne (Gerald) Altenburg, and Dustin Lauer, she was also a proud grandmother to Graham, Amelia, Annabelle, Gage Ewing, and Mileena Altenburg. She also leaves behind her mother, Joan Kempisty, her brothers, Richard (Kathy) Kempisty and Ronald Kempisty as well as many cousins and nephews. Darlene was predeceased by her father Richard Kempisty and her daughter, Jessica Ewing, whose memory she held close to her heart.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Ross Funeral Home of Akron, located at 10 Eckerson Avenue, Akron, New York, 14001. We encourage all who knew Darlene to leave memories and upload photos to her memorial page.
