Daniel James Bellor, Sr.

Daniel James Bellor Sr., passed away peacefully in the early hours of Friday, January 14, 2022 after an expeditious battle with cancer. Daniel was born to William and Helen Bellor on September 25, 1947.

Alongside his brother and sisters, Daniel attended school in Greece, NY and graduated from Greece Arcadia High School in 1966.  Immediately upon graduation, Daniel started his lengthy tool & die career with Alliance Tool & Die in Rochester. With hopes of starting a family, Daniel made his way to Orleans County, purchasing a farmhouse on 100 acres where he would raise his two sons, Daniel II and Michael Bellor.  Throughout his sons’ childhood, Daniel enjoyed housing various types of livestock on his farm, including horses, cows, pigs, and goats and always had a family Doberman close by.  As Daniel’s family started to get older, he ventured into the remote-controlled car racing world, opening an internationally renowned indoor track where he and his sons could be found most Saturday evenings.  In 2000, Daniel joined the maintenance crew at Perry’s Ice Cream where he met his love, Darla.  Together, Daniel and Darla made their home in Middleport and, if not spending time with their beloved dogs, Shadow and Bazinga, could be found enjoying a movie, camping in their motor home, or just spending time together. 

Daniel will be greatly missed by those he left behind, however, he was welcomed into Heaven by his granddaughter, Jamie Bellor, parents, and older sister, Patricia.

Daniel is survived by his loving wife Darla (Brosman); two sons, Daniel (Julieann) and Michael (Lindsey); stepdaughter, Courtney (Adam Brink); seven grandchildren, Castor Wright, Ethan, Leah, Carter, Emily and Kyle Bellor, and Lucy Brink; brother, William, sisters, Sharon Bolenbough, Susan Neilsen, Judy Klein, Ellen German, Kate Huber, and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1 -2 PM on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at Ross Funeral Home of Akron, LLC, 10 Eckerson Avenue Akron, NY 14001. Funeral service immediately following at 2 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Daniel’s name to a charity of your choice.
